AIOFP Annual On-Shore Conference

Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise

19th October – 21st October 2011

The AIOFP is one of the largest organisations for independently owned financial planning practices. More than 100 AIOFP member directors and practice managers will gather together at the Association’s conference on the Gold Coast in October 2011. All AIOFP members are invited to attend.

This year’s onshore conference will be held at the superior Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort and Spa. The conference will focus on the three major themes of compliance, product selection and market timing. ASIC’s ACT Regional Commisioner, Delia Rickard and Senior Investigator, Julie Fewster will be speaking about what they expect your business to look like. We will continue with the highly successful Portfolio Construction Session from the Hong Kong Conference held in March 2011. We will also hear from our guest speaker Mathew Jeremy, Caravel Consulting Services about market timing. Members will also present some non standard business models and advice strategies. We need to equip ourselves with the necessary knowledge and tools to navigate through these uncertain times and this program should deliver what you need to survive.

Conference Review

The conference was considered by many to be our most informative to date. With FOFA, ASIC on the war path and global market turmoil there was plenty of information to present. We sought 3 different Economist views, introduced more ASX products, had the best active managers, some market warnings from ASIC and some really good marketing style presentations from members on how to tap into new client opportunities.
