Early Christmas gift for a worthy cause

Below is an email from the Salvation Army thanking us for a donation of surplus rooms from our recent conference hotel to their cause.

We provided a nice night and breakfast to some volunteers and homeless people as a Christmas present.

If you are a larger member who conducts conferences for your advisers, we are working on a legal clause to put in the contract to stop hotels double dipping – ie holding you contractually to the rooms then on selling them.

In this case, we told the hotel we were donating them….they were not happy but bad luck!

Hi Peter,

Just wanted to send a note of thanks for your wonderful donation of guest rooms to The Salvation Army last week.

We had 26 people use the rooms & facilities – 2 on Wednesday (18/11) and 24 on Friday (20/11).

Everyone was so appreciative of your kindness in this way and they had a very enjoyable stay.
